The Great Outdoors

Catonsville offers some of the most extensive hiking and bike trails in the area…not to mention opportunities for camping, canoeing, horseback riding, fishing, and hunting.

•  Patapsco State Park - 14,000 acres and five developed recreational areas along 32 miles of the Patapsco River. For information about protecting and maintaining the trails in the Patapsco Valley, see the Friends of Patapsco Valley and Heritage Greenway, Inc. and the Friends of Patapsco Valley State Park, Ltd..

•  The Catonsville Heritage Trails – roughly 5.6 miles of disused trolley and streetcar lines, now being reclaimed for hiking and biking throughout Catonsville

•  Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park - 2,000 acres of publicly owned land within the nearby Gwynns Falls stream valley, just inside the Baltimore City line
