Relocating to Catonsville

Welcome to Catonsville and Southwest Baltimore County. We have a diversity of historic buildings, residential charm, commercial & industrial areas, and natural beauty that is unique to the Mid Atlantic Region.

The center of Catonsville is a historic village with large Victorian homes and a traditional "Main Street" that has been restored through a neighborhood revitalization project. Many restaurants, shops, and offices line the street that was part of the Old National Road. A number of specialty music stores have earned the area the nickname, "Music City Maryland"

Baltimore National Pike, U.S. Route 40, is a shoppers' paradise with a variety of shops, malls, and big-box retailers. There is a large collection of furniture stores to satisfy every budget.

Surrounding Catonsville are a number of communities with their own commercial areas including Arbutus, Baltimore Highlands, Halethorpe, Lansdowne, Paradise, Oella, Relay, and Security Square.

The region is blessed with transportation opportunities. Residents and businesses are located just minutes from four interstate highways, Baltimore-Washington International Airport, AMTRAK, MARC commuter service, and MTA Bus Lines & Light Rail.

We have it all — a small-town feeling with the convenience and opportunities of a metropolitan area.

Enjoy the Great Outdoors
Hilton Area is the access to Patapsco Valley State Park that connects with Catonsville. A leisurely drive down Hilton Avenue will bring you to a woodland area with opportunities for picnicking, hiking, and playing on the tire playground. The Rails-to-Trails movement has provided our area with two excellent walking paths. Streetcar Trail #8 is a short path between Catonsville Junction and Frederick Road. Trolley Trail #9 is a longer, more challenging trail from the end of Edmondson Avenue to the Patapsco River at Oella.
